2026–2027 School Year: All public high schools are required to offer Driver’s Ed.
July 1, 2027: Completion of a certified course becomes mandatory for all new teen drivers to receive a license.
Classroom Instruction: 24 hours (minimum).
Behind-the-Wheel: 6 hours (minimum).
Specialized Training: Must include safety for pedestrians/cyclists and traffic stop protocols.
Public school students (via their district).
Home-schooled students and adults (via Department of Public Safety programs).
