Mississippi Safety Services was founded in 1986 by John and Kay Brodbeck with a clear mission: to improve the safety of every driver on Mississippi roads. As a family-owned and operated organization, we remain deeply committed to reducing the state’s tragically high traffic fatality rates—Mississippi consistently ranks at or near the top nationally for fatalities per 100,000 population and per registered drivers (often leading with rates around 24–25 per 100,000 residents and over 35 per 100,000 licensed drivers in recent NHTSA data).

We proudly serve as Mississippi’s exclusive authorized provider of National Safety Council (NSC) curriculum, the nation’s leading authority in defensive driving education since pioneering the first course in 1964. Our programs empower drivers with proven collision prevention strategies, behavior change techniques, hazard recognition, and responsible decision-making to help avoid crashes, violations, and injuries.

We offer two core NSC Defensive Driving Courses:

• Our 4-Hour Defensive Driving Course available both online (convenient, self-paced) and in-person at classrooms across the state—for ticket dismissal, insurance discounts, and building lifelong safe habits.

• Our 8-Hour Driver IMPACT (Alive at 25®) an expanded, highly interactive program designed especially for young drivers (ages 15–24), using real-world scenarios, discussions, and role-playing to foster accountability, judgment, and risk reduction.
